Neutrons

Tres amusante, mon brave!

Oh boy, pools of Neutrons just swilling around in Hellas basin!

1) Hellas does NOT have high neutron moderation activity
2) Neutron modification activity is neither altitude dependent nor dependent on closed depressions anywhere
3) Your physics is loony! Whilst low energy (thermal) neutrons are clearly influenced by gravity (see discussion of Odyssey HEND thermal neutrons on the forward-facing and rear-facing detectors), they do not passively sit around waiting for particle interactions. Thermalised neutrons are rapidly absorbed into target atomic nuclei
4) I HAVE talked to someone in my physics department who also works on Mars problems, so I'm NOT working in a vacuum, unlike someone else in this discussion

Finally, did you know that "neutron" means a particle with "nothing"?

I'm inclined to believe that if there is a soup of such nothings swilling around somewhere, it's well-contained between your earlobes, rather than floating around on Mars. (admittedly ad-hominem, but admirably apt)
