I wasn't talking about the tax cuts. I was responding to your comment on employment. Its called a red herring, Scott. I take it your attempt to change the debate indicates that you have nothing to say to my response, and therefore accept it as accurate? Great!
So but if you want to talk Tax Cuts, I'm not sure how you can possibly justify a more than 450billion dollar deficit as an economic stimulus or sign of a recovered economy. There is a direct correlation between tax cuts and deficits- its provable and obvious. However, there is dubious correlation between cutting taxes and resulting econoimic growth, especially when those tax cuts are focused on the upper-tier of wealth (egalitarian and political arguments aside, I am talking about JUST mechanisms here) which do not purchse substantially more 'big mac and gap' base-line consumer goods than middle-class families.
Germany and Spain have taxation at a dramatically higher rate (like their bottom rate of taxation is higher than our top rate, at least if they compare to Norway, which I'm sure they do), a completely foreign notion of the role of government, and a completely different system of balance between industry and public sector. I think the comparison you are trying to draw may look cute on paper, but I doubt it will fly unless you fold it into a paper-airplane and toss it out the window.
And while they may be talking about tax cuts as an economic stimulus, it may or may not work- in the very least it will depend on HOW they do it.
And if they are anticipating a growing American economy as a stimulus to their own- well, they are welcome to wait. Looking out at tech from a better-than-average perspective, all I see is devastation. I wish it were otherwise- as a Tech worker, its costing me real money... I have a job, and I'm greateful for it, but I'm still making 10-20% less than what I am worth.
And there are sectors that are suffering worse than Tech.
Eventually, you have to stop trying to put lipstick on the pig. You can blame 'your guy' or not, call it the fault of the Republicrats or the Democans (I don't care) but the simple fact is that the economy is in the toilet.
