I asked the question of the famous superhero, "The Shoveler:"

"The Shovel. By all means. A metal shovel will bust a wooden bat if used right. I mean, you've never heard of The Bat Man, have you? Oh. Wait. Right. But hey, he doesn't actually carry a BAT around, does he?"
