A collectivist is uncomfortable performing any decisive action unless a mob is behind him. I fail to see what would have made our actions more or less correct either tactically or morally simply because the U.N. signed up to it.
Either the invasion of Iraq was a good idea, or it wasn't, and taking a vote of Third World countries on the matter doesn't change that.
Of course, that doesn't take into account the fact that the U.N. and some nations opposing the war had a lot to gain financially from the status quo, something that seems to have been swept under the rug in these arguments.
