re: Case Study

It's worth noting that Scientific American, which has an agenda a mile wide, was one of the first to jump all over the author of the book The Skeptical Environmentalist too.

What is boils down to, of course, is the last sentence:

"You'd be challenged, I'd bet, to find someone who supports the Kyoto Protocol and also thinks that this paper is good science, or someone who thinks that the paper is bad science and is opposed to Kyoto," predicts Roger Pielke, Jr., of the University of Colorado.

Environmentalists complain that studies showing that global warming is not strongly related to human activity are influenced by industry and polluters. They don't seem to worry that the opposing view is often influenced by radical environmentalists who believe that capitalism and Western technology are a cancer on the face of the Earth.

Everybody has an axe to grind, and both sides need to admit it.
