Mine Yes, Yours No

I will read the reports you link however as I have most references others have held up as refutation of GW. It is quite possible that with an active biological system there is a positive feedback loop associated with CO2 induced warming contrary to the claims by some that plants will absorb the excess. Such supposed absorption is clearly not the case based on the actual data on increasing CO2 levels. Desertification is one potential source of a positive feedback loop. If you are correct about warming preceding increases in CO2 there is more reason to be concerned about global warming than the direct effects of our own emmissions.

Again a simplistic handwave (warming causes CO2 and no feedback loop) that ignores the solid scientific data indicating CO2 is a greenhouse gas. It's not convenient, so being a good Republican I will ignore the scientific data eh? CO2 is a scientifically proven greenhouse gas capable of having planetary impact. What is not scientifically proven is what its impact on Earth's complex system will be. Republican politicians use the later uncertainty to pretend there is uncertainty over the first part when there is none. Goes right along with their dismissal of evolution. My overall view of politicians is that Republicans tend to care little for science that is inconvenient to their core beliefs and that Democrats love sloppy soft science which they use outside of its narrow research context to promote things anyone with common or historical sense can see is impractical.

Mark
