I was thinking of The Silver Kiss, also by Annette Curtis Klause.

We're doing vampire movies anyway, because there are a lot more of them, including comedies. Though you really can't beat "An American Werewolf in London". (For unintentional humor, there's always "I Was a Teenage Werewolf" with Michael Landon as the hairy hero.) Vampires are far more seductive and creepy than werewolves, though.
