Annihilating people is not affecting their behavior, but eliminating it.

The historic mission of the Palestinians is what is irrelevant to his questions. It's up to the people with the principles either to abjure them or to adhere to them. He asks, as is his right, whether his people have forgotten theirs.

You're right: this is also what a lot of the liberal argument is made of. Who are we? Do we wish to testify to our ideals and beliefs with our actions, or with lip service? Do we believe in the power of law, or just in power?

You think this is sour grapes? I wonder what imperial vintage our leaders are drinking. Their party -- our hangover.
