I'm sure the french feel honored to be treated assholes by you.
How can you justify war against Iraq by Saddam's behavior towards his people and NOT doing the same against North Korea, where people (and children) are far more starving to death than they were in Iraq? Or Algeria where Islamists have brought hell to the population?
Why does the US feel the right to intervene in Iraq and not in other countries?
Iraq was no threat to the world, after all.
It's the oil after all!! Yes, that must be it, inspite of what we heard during the last months!
(hence the heavily guarded energy ministry and the museums abandoned to looters)
Why doesn't the US invade more dangerous countries?
Is it not because of the nuclear threat NK is known to possess?
What does it mean to the "courage" of the US army invading a defenseless country (and not even finding its dictator) while leaving the NK issue to diplomacy?
Double standards.
When western european colonial empires where thriving, they also used force and they also wanted to implement democracies and they also had the best of intentions.
It didn't work (even though the empires had far stronger armies than the countries they were occupying).
This is why the "asshole" France wants first the US to relinquish power back to the Iraqis before help can come from the UN forces.
(BTW, I'm very much impressed by the US idealizing Israel no matter what. I went to Israel in 1979 and saw firsthand what was going on: Israeli troops forcing at gunpoint Palestnians to empty their truckloads of fruits while on their way to the market, and this on a regular daily basis. Talk about a perpetual silent humiliation felt by the Plastinians. OTOH, Palestinians working in Tel Aviv for Israeli employers and everybody feeling OK about it.
