Indeed it is amusing

It was a very bad calculation on the part of the California neocons still licking their wounds after Davis decisely won reelection. You'll notice that the guy who started this debacle, Congressman Darrell Issa (R-San Diego), dropped from sight as soon reality struck that maybe this wasn't such a good idea and that getting names on a recall petition didn't guarantee him the governorship. He went off muttering that he was going to devote his time and energies to middle-east peace or something more mundane like that.

My bet is that the recall will fail and Mr. Davis will continue what will probably be his last term as California governor. This, after California taxpayers have spent $60 million fulfilling Congressman Issa's recall wet dream.

In an ideal world, the state of California would have stricter, more rigorous standards for recall elections,Arnold would be working on his next movie and no one outside of California would have any idea who Tom McClintock is.
