Don't think so. Most Democrats would vote for Hillary if she went on national TV and bit the heads off hamsters. Typical response to Bill Clinton's lies: "so what?"
Fact: if a Democrat wins in 2004, Hillary is up the creek for eight years. If it looks like a Democrat has a chance, she has to run. Alternative tactic: make sure the Democrat loses. Some people think this is what is going on (the Clintons have shown a tendency to draw attention from other campaigns to themselves), but I don't think the jury is back in on that one.
