They do not automatically provide the cheapest goods produced in the most efficient manner. While free markets are the only kind that can do this they do not always do it. They tend to whatever model produces the most money in the culture they exist in. Many examples of undesirable markets exist. Plenty of examples exist in the US not just foreign countries.
