The administration and pundits, right after 9/11, were saying that it was impossible that a terrorist group could have pulled 9/11 off without help from a country. A lot of folks were asserting that Iraq was the most likely culprit. Problem is, they never came out and said they were wrong, because the untrue belief, was so darned convenient.
