They can't succeed. The question is: how quickly their dream of reshaping the world according to them will reveal itself and show how it's doomed to fail.

We will probably get nominal support from the Shiites to at least set up a workable government and democracy has mass appeal in a prosperous environment.

In the USA or anywhere else fundamentalist religion thrives only under poverty and hopelessness. The minds of well fed people turn to self fullfillment and worldly trappings. Under the right circumstance the Islamic faith will become like most other religions, a spiritual aspect of a primarily secular life.

Much of current Islamic leadership opposes modernism for this reason but the people will prevail, sooner rather than later, with our help. At least this is what we hope for.
