Bush and co aren't conservatives

I don't consider Bush and co to be conservatives, so I have no reason to agree with them. Conservatives are supposed to be good managers of the economy, these guys are pursuing a policy that economists think is nonsense with predictable results. Conservatives tend to be isolationists, these guys invaded Iraq against the advice of every Western intelligence agency who told them there was no evidence WMD's were there or were dangerous. And it turned out they were right and Bush was wrong. Conservatives don't do things like that.
I'm a businessman myself. I think these guys are just corrupt opportunists that will say and do anything that allows them to keep ripping off the system, that's not a definition of conservatism. Cheney worked int he government to get lot of contracts for Halliburton and then went to work for them. I think he's doing the same thing again, and holding onto his stock options as VP is utterly corrupt and not conservative. He should promise not to ever work for them again, lots of luck getting him to do that.
Bush is just running things to make as much money for his father in the Carlysle Group as possible, billions so far. An utterly corrupt conflict of interest, nothing conservative about that.
Rumsfeld will likely go back to Bechtel after all the money he's made them. The work in Riaq could probably be done for 5% of what it's costing, these companies are just subcontracting it out cheap and making the rest as profit. Nothing conservative about that. Lots of people from Bush's comapign are hanging out their shingle to show companies how to get into the money being wasted in Iraq. Just a bunch of corrupt hangers on, not conservatives.
Most of the tax cuts were just to pay off their contributors and removing the estate tax to save money for their own families, they don't care that the middle class and businesses will be saddled with paying it all off if they ever can. Nothing in conservative economics about that. I don't think there was any intention for it to be good for the economy, and good for anyone except the people whose pockets it went into.
So I see nothing resembling a philosphy in these people. Someone like Dean to me is a Republican that has to run as a Democrat because the party structure is too corrupt for a conservative to get nominated. Likewise with Clark who has voted Republican. The Democratic party to me has become 1/3 Republican and the Republican party has become a gang of looters who figure the economy is doomed and are grabbing all they can. I see no reason to call them conservatives just because that's what they call themselves. Bill Gates had a joke that the way to make software user friendly is to stamp user friendly on the cover. The only thing conservative about these guys is they call themselves conservatives.
