That's assuming the US acts in the interest of the world.
The word "Hyperpower" was first coined by Hubert Vedrine, and this, years before 9/11.
Even though the US spends so much more in weapons than any other part of the world, 19 terrorists were still able to kill 3,000 people in the US.
Israel, which is heavily armed by the US, cannot prevent terrorists from blowing themselves up and everybody around them.
Somehow, producing and selling so many weapons and interfering with cultures we don't quite understand, can and will backfire.
