This doesn't make sense
We just got through being told that Saddam was convinced that he was not under any real threat and would survive the coalition attacks.
This is not consistent with someone trying to make a last minute deal, unless Saddam was lying.
It will take us some time to work out the real truth of what happened.
And yes, Don has already gotten excited at this, (maybe THIS will be the one that brings Bush down!) but a reading of the article seems to indicate that there is nothing confirming the truth of any of this beyond the sayso of a Lebanese businessman. Sorry, Don. Looks like another non-story.
