The oxidant may not be the ones thought to be on Mars. Levin however has asserted that no suitable oxidant exists on Mars but one seems to exist in a similar environment right here on Earth. It's now up to Levin to examine this and see whether it is right or not. It has injected doubt into Levin's conclusions, so he can perhaps no longer claim at this stage he proved he discovered life on Mars. I would think Levin may well reply on his web site over the next few weeks.
