Rall is pretty dumb in this case to make it sound like he's saying it. Nonetheless his words would be almost exactly what leaders of the resistence in Iraq would be saying right now. Instead of killing the messenger Rall you should be working out how to win against an attitude like that in Iraq. Has anyone beaten people like this in the 20th century? If so look at how it was done, and if it can't be done then failure sooner or later is your only choice.
And if they must win sooner or later then soldiers will die and money spent only delay the inevitable, in other words in a fruitless search to save face.
