...it's about time to relinquish power to the Iraqis...
I've heard some things about the Iraqi Council that give me pause. I wonder if all of them truly have their nation's best interests at heart.
To relinquish power simply for the sake of doing so, or in response to vocal criticism, could be a huge and costly mistake, don't you think? Regardless of what you think of the reasons (or lack thereof) for the war, the US has got to see Iraq through. Would it be prudent to hand over power while a relatively small but extraodinarily violent and determined group seeks control? Could that not bump the power struggle into a whole new phase?
