Unless we want to be the United States of the Third World Immigrants like the Netherlands or many European nations who have now instituted government policy to pay out big cash rewards to heterosexuals for having children to keep the place from falling apart economically and socially (Germany has this in place too) - then gay marriage must be seen for the destructive force that it is.
First: Your first phrase, "the United States of the Third World Immigrants", sounds a great deal like the obnoxious tirades against various waves of immigrants who have hit these shores lo these many many decades: the Irish, the Italians, the Chinese, the Eastern Europeans, the Puerto Ricans, the Mexicans... "They breed like rabbits! Let's keep them in their place!" (This often included vicious digs at the Catholic Church where applicable, because of its no-birth-control policies.) And yet America has survived them all, and even flourished because of their variety.
Second: "[B]ig cash rewards to heterosexuals for having children". Emphasis mine. Homosexuals are capable of having children, and often do. I would be very surprised if there were a sexual orientation test for collecting the child support money.
Third: These "big cash rewards" are child care funds. It costs money to look after children. If one doesn't have the money to provide adequate child care and support, and one has the ability to understand the consequences (i.e., a woman doesn't want to give up her career for 18 years), of course one will not have children. Funny: when impoverished teenaged girls in America need financial help to support children, they are considered manipulative milkers of the public treasury. When professional people in Europe need financial help to support children, they're considered rescuers of the gene pool. Why is that?
Fourth: "[G]ay marriage must be seen for the destructive force that it is." Are you suggesting that, if gay people are allowed to go public with legal personal commitments to their partners (whom they already have), suddenly a lot of formerly straight people will become gay and the birth rate will drop into the cellar? Or are you suggesting that the number of closeted Americans is so huge that, if gay marriage is sanctioned, they will all come out, suddenly the straights will be in the minority, and the flag will be changed to pink, white and blue?
Do go on. The combination of racial and gender anxieties is most entertaining.
