Delusion, Reality and the Pursuit of Science
Reality bends for no persons pleasure, or delusion. Not even SDAI-tech1....
Oh, Don't kid yourself et. Reality bends all the time for me. Loops around in vortical motions constantly. I sit and type this and every second realize that we are making a big vortical spiral in space..indeed that every motion of energy here and everywhere is vortical in nature. I know...so what? Einstein thought if you traveled far enough you would end up where you started. He left out an important factor. Time. The truth is that the energy has changed since you begun and so you can only end up at the evolution of the place you started. You have cycled around and arrived at a new layer of energy built upon the structures where you began.
Guess what shape that makes?
Hint: not a finite circle.
Reality, as perceived by a clergyman, where a universe sprouts from nothingness to everything in a cosmic hiccough is equally unreal and so obviously full of the worst sort of "scientific" BS and yet in scientific circles is used as the present basis for countless research papers which I wouldn't dignify to even use as toilet paper because they are founded in mysticism, not science.
Everyone is learning at their own pace and can perceive the universe within their own finite parameters. Teachers don't teach calculus to pre-schoolers and the idea of an infinite universe is too much for some to bear, despite it's amazing simplicity and elegance.
No need for pleasure or delusion, only perception.
Most all these papers are, unfortunately, worthless, because they try to put finite measurements on something anyone with common sense can see is not finite. Fixed measurements of any finite set of data and attempting to generate a cosmological model based on that data is ridiculous. It would be like measuring three rocks and then guessing how many rocks are on the planet and how big they are - or worse trying to guess how many rocks are on all the planets in the universe.
The emperors new clothes syndrome is not only self-evident in cosmology, but it has gotten so bad that some folks are doing the equivalent of a thread count on the nonexistent silk. Delusion seems to be a prerequisite for reading and believing most of the books and popular theories regarding the "origin" of the universe.
Johannes is trying to learn about things that a lot of folks would consider geeky. Most folks would also have given up by now after being thoroughly thrashed by the board. Whenever you or anyone else feels he is blowing hot air or espousing a fallacious POV - remember he is by no means alone and is just not as good a professional BS-er like many who have been "properly educated" and know how to use references so that you can spread the responsibility for your POV and give the illusion your BS is the next logical step.
Anyway, how many folks out there really give a rat's rear about science at all? How many spend ANY amount of time thinking about scientific things?
When one plugs in those numbers, hopefully everyone will realize that everyone pooping on Johannes' parade is in itself counterproductive, even if he is wrong. A teacher does not curse at a student's error, but shares knowledge. I mentioned earlier my belief about the "one great idea" that I believe everyone has to contribute to science. And I still hold that view. How many folks gave up on science because of being humiliated. For all we know Johannes may have a daughter that becomes the next Marie Curie because her dad encouraged her to think about scientific things. Would you or anyone here want to have derailed her career just so as to put Johannes in his place?
Think about it.
