The argument you make is that by tranporting yourself FTL then you carry the info FTL and thus end up in the "coin landed heads" universe- my argument is that you have ended up in a universe that hasnt "decided" how the coin landed, and quite frankly doesnt care what you think about the coin...
you could transport out a few light hours and watch the broadcast of your maiden voyage, and watch your ship blow up on the pad...conversely, people could watch you blow up and as they are planning your funeral TA-DA you show up...
They were in the universe where you blow up, then they are in the universe where you pop in from a universe where you were doing just fine...
Could lead to interesting plot twists!
