Genetically alter the humans so that they were the size of ants...

Then millions could ride into space on a space shuttle sized craft!

Once they arrive at their destination, the could if they wanted to: Re-engineer their DNA so that they would again be 1.5-2.0 meters tall.

I agree... Genetic engineering is the key to conquering the Universe...
