FTL may be possible

By some way as inconceivable to us as the electronic transmission of images was to Isaac Newton.

Your proposal would no doubt attract volunteers like the Chinese lord that attached himself to rockets and had his servants light the fuse. It would never become a popular mode of travel.

My own FTL solution seems to bore people to tears but it breaks no laws of physics. We simply extend life to the point that the distances are insignificant. We would go and come back well within our lifetime.

I have wondered if extending life to thousands of years would change the nature of time as we perceive it. Would casual thoughts linger for months? Would we mark our minutes in years?

Both ideas are probably the 21st century equivalent of traveling to the moon by being fired out of a cannon.
