re: Ten-Cent Gipper
When I see a comment like "Every time I see a homeless person, I'm reminded what an asshole he was," I know I'm dealing with a person whose cerebral neurons I could count on my fingers.
This guy falls under the category of the Simpleminded Leftist, who pretty much absorbs his views by osmosis. Fortunately, a rare item on this board. Sean Hannity has a great time doing "man on the street" interviews with such airheads.
Another bit of brilliant perception can be found in the comments on the article:
I'm seeing a disturbing trend of conservatives trying to denigrate FDR in recent months. It floors me that these folks paint FDR as some kind of pinko, when if they were at all in touch with their actual constituents, they'd know that the legacy of the New Deal is at the core of what's important to regular Americans--Social Security, Medicare, robust public works programs, etc.
Gee, why on Earth would anyone accused FDR as having socialist tendencies? All that's missing from the "pinko" wish list is single payer health care.
Actually, I'd like to see the buffalo nickel and Indianhead penny back again. I think Abe has had a long enough turn.
