Actually I thought it was pretty funny. FDR for the dime, Reagan for the $100,000 bill defines their bases pretty well. Neither cared much about the middle class.

Reagan was elected by a sizeable majority in 1980 and reelected by a landslide in 1984. How does someone whose base is only the wealthy manage to do that? If the base for the Republican party is the rich, why is it that most of the contributions it receives is small donations from private individuals, while the Democrats get the majority of million dollar donations from the Hollywood set and guys like billionare George Soros or Warren Buffet?
