'More research needed'
I think it is a fun thought experiment, but I have a feeling that messing with the radiation protection system of the planet is something no one is going to get behind.
It would have to proven beyond any doubt at all that this would not increase the level of dangerous radiaiton striking the earth. The article does not address that at all.
