re: Campaign finance reform

If Bush thought he was being clever by signing the bill to look Politically Correct in hopes that the Supreme Court would have his back, I hope he learned an important lesson. What is "constitutional" or not has long since ceased to be a matter of what the Constitution actually says, and more a matter of what side of the bed the court got up on that morning. The fact that the opinion was about 200 pages long would have told most people familiar with the legal industry that someone was trying to blow smoke. Generally, the more words a legal opinion requires, the more suspicious you should be.

Another good example: compare the length of the U.S. Constitution with that proposed for the European Union.
