Adamski claims to have met aliens from Venus and Saturn. I think you are aware of the physical characteristics of these planets? You know, all you really need to bring to the table in these discussions, and many others here, is a little common sense.
There was a legendary, perhaps apocryphal, scam about a complex device with a crank that you would put a blank piece of paper into and a perfectly good brand-new $20 bill would roll out. The scammer would offer to sell this gadget for about $1000.
The kind of mentality I see here sometimes would have the $20 bill professionally analyzed, and find that it's genuine. He would test the gadget a few more times, and it would work each time. Then he would test those bills. Still good money.
X-raying the machine, which does not come apart, would reveal no clear image of the complex interior, but also would reveal no clear proof that there was something fraudulent involved. No conclusions drawn.
Background checks on the "inventor" might find nothing wrong, either.
A lot of work, and a lot of checking. Trying to find the truth.
Naturally the machine worked by "eating" the blank paper and "printing" real bills that had been previously installed in the machine. I have seen simple versions sold as magic tricks.
A clever person with no common sense would perhaps come up with that scenario, but would not be able to prove it without destroying the machine. How is he supposed to come to a final conclusion?
Now standing over there by the cracker barrel is an old guy with some common sense. He doesn't even look at the machine, or the bills. He asks one question:
"Why the hell would someone with a machine that made legal money sell it for ANY price?"
