they should be by now but they aren't

Every recession ends unless the government does something extremely stupid. many for example believe the Great Depression was caused by cutting the money supply instead of raising it. There is a limit then in which any political party can claim success for ending a recession any more than a doctor can claim credit for when you get over the flu after a visit.

You probably think that's a secret Bush hating ploy but it's well known economics theory and quite obvious. The point is and always was how quickly do you get out of a recession and how much money do you have to waste to do it. Obviously the smaller the amount of money you have to run a deficit on and the stronger the recover the better the economic policy.

It is still far from obvious there even is a recovery outside of corporate profits and the stock market. The jobless recovery verges on the worst performance in decades and there is still no real improvement. And before you go on about the household surveys if you compare them to household surveys of a few years ago (instead of other statistics) the job creation growth is still very grim. So any way it's spun the jobs recovery is not happening or looking like happening.

The recovery is a natural consequence of Bush's policies in that the ones who have recovered are the wealthy. After all they got nearly all the tax cuts, and the dividend cuts, and the corporate pork which nearly all has gone to favoured corporations. So that part is no surprise at all. For the rest of the schmucks they had little or no recovery stimulus targetted at them and they got the bupkis recovery from the bupkis stimulus.
