re: They say -- but it's more "15/25" . . .

Most secrets will always remain -- secret. After decades, they are released -- to a relatively unbelieving populace, resulting in a sensationalizing media, massive conspiracy theories, and few solid facts upon which to build.

“Roswell”'s a good example of this. So are “Vietnam”, and the JFK “Grassy Knoll” crowd.

Anyway:

I believe American and British soldiers will be dying, and killing, in that country as long as they remain there.

They will. That was put out months ago, but who wants to recall that? The kill or be killed situation for any and all Middle East “outsiders” will go on until transition is complete. Then the kill or be killed scenario will be officially passed to the Western-trained forces of the Iraqi police and militaries.

And it won’t end there, either.

The hard difference between Vietnam and Iraq is that when we do leave, we will be leaving with a government intact, not a land in chaos waiting for some Taliban-like government to move in and claim victory.

BTW:
That's clear from what has already come out through unauthorized disclosures from many anonymous sources and from officials and former officials such as David Kelly and US ambassador Joseph Wilson, who revealed the falsity of reports that Iraq had pursued uranium from Niger, which President Bush none the less cited as endorsed by British intelligence in his state of the union address before the war. Both Downing Street and the White House organized covert pressure to punish these leakers and to deter others, in Dr Kelly's case with tragic results.

Utterly false. Mr. Ellsberg appears to have jumped the gun on this one. Watch the news today.

Cheers,
Dan
