Why was it classified?

Some very bad things have been done under the cloak of "classified". What about biological warfare experiments conducted on humans by US Government agencies?

I can't help but think that hiding inhumane behavior behind the letter of the law, and refusing to look for it because looking is illegal, corrupts both the law and our humanity.

Some "need to know" information needs to be known.
