Before the US entered WWI, when certain factions were trying to inflame public sentiment against the Kaiser's Germany, stories circulated in the press that German soldiers were eating Belgian babies.

In the run-up to Desert Shield/Storm, we heard that Iraqi soldiers had removed Kuwati babies from their incubators and thrown them on the floor.

Need I add that both stories turned out to be false.

I have no way of knowing if the story of the baby-eating N. Koreans is true, or false, but until I see incontravertible evidence of this alleged cannibalism, I will remain skeptical of this particular story's authenticity.
