That moment was not what I want people in the world to think the US stands for. Here we are trying to promote democracy across the world and now we are going to show them what should be seen on there TV's at anytime?
The Super Bowl was an open sports telecast viewed worldwide for everybody to see and enjoy. It's not like it was a paid cable show where you knew the controversial content before hand and had a choice to watch it or not. Janet Jackson forced her flagrant action upon the people of the world knowing or unknowing that it made a statement of what the US thinks should be accepted for anybody (young, old, religious, etc.) to see at anytime.
I personal don't think her actions makes for a good example of the US as a decent country trying to promote democracy around the world. Sure we have a lot wild things going on here, but they are supposed to be private and by choice.
I also don't think it helps the Muslim women (here and abroad) who are trying to break the tradition of covering there faces in public. It can only give fuel to the Muslim men. What is the Muslim women to tell her daughter?
If we are to accept this kind of behavior on open broadcast TV, why have a rating system and parental guidance for entertainment? Should violence be the only concern?
When do we draw the line? What's next, both breast exposed and the pasties fall off accidentally? Whoops! See, I have two just like you.
Just my thoughts, nothing personal.
