I've got to laugh at Democrats whining about Bush lies on the war when they claim inspections were working. What kind of memory warp forgets that there were no inspections until the resolution the US got passed to allow an invasion for noncompliance? Iraq only started partially cooperating when the US started looking serious and quit when they thought France/Russia/ and Germany could stonewall the US. Even then the rose colored glasses wearing Blix stated they were not fully cooperating.
The war issue is a looser Don. Look at Dean's slide. Most people feel the need to be proactive after 9/11. The real issue is Bush's handling of the economy and the deficit. If the Democrat's win it will be by pounding Bush on that issue not the war.
As an independent looking for an alternative to Bush, the Democrats are blowing it. Although ditching Dean seems to indicate some return to pragmatic reality.
Kerry is gaining on Bush precisely because Bush's trickle down theories are just as weak as Reagan's. Bush's economic approval is worse than his Iraq approval. Profits are up, stock prices are up, but jobs are still scarce. The beneficiaries so far from Bush's cuts are primarily those in the class of Bush's heavy campaign contributors. If the Democrats can't see where they are winning and loosing, their campaign strategy will be just as lost as "why can't I beat this idiot" Gore's.

Mark
