re: Lava tubes

There have been a number of features on the Moon that have been identified as collapsed lava tubes, including some that are intermittent, implying some uncollapsed areas. A completely intact lava tube would be very hard to see from Earth or lunar orbit, but one can infer that there may be plenty of them. I don't know if high-powered radar could detect such things.
