It's not so much the chemical reaction , but the whole hardware needed for the production. It must come from the surface of the Earth, sent to space, cross millions of Km in 6 months, automatically land on Mars, deploy its plant and work for a long time, without leaks, under extreme conditions....
The devil is in the detail...
