This is pre Intel 101, but It looks like you need a course in it.
In intelligence we are given 'questions', at my level we call them CIRs and PIRs(Commanders's/Priority Intelligence requirements). You see the Intelligence comunity provides a 'product', to 'consumers'. The consumers could be other intelligence agencies, commanders on the ground, or even the commander in cheif.
Intelligence requests are passed down through the chain of command. A the top, the President might say, "so, uh, what Saddam guy been up to?", by the time it gets to the annalyst on the ground its been broken down into little teeny tiny precise peices by the chain of command like "Is there any activity related to WMD?", and a load of other simple questions that have been likewise broken down and doled out to the respective unit that is set up handle just that sort of question.
So to get back to your statement that "none of them would tell me the list you mentioned.", yes, you are right, like Jepordy you have give your statements in the form of a question; except about an asset they collect on. "Why did we go to war?" is not something they're set up to handle, nor is it something they directly had anything to do with. Thats a question for the SINC (Supreme in Command) or as you call him "Bush".

Justin Kelly

You, of course are right, why would they?
