It would seem these "dirt balls" would have a longer time to form on Mars. The trip from the volcano and back down would have been longer due to the lower acceleration of gravity on Mars.

Also if they are composed of concentric layers why do so many seem to cleave in half as shown in the pic Robert Posted?
