Broken blueberries

Could some protuberance of the arm be used to try to crack one of the spherules embedded in the rock? I'm thinking of the plate of the Mossbauer. I would imagine they are not held firmly enough in place to allow grinding by the RAT... though if I were in control I might give it a shot.
