And yes, I've heard of Operation Northwoods. It's based on a single book, which based it on a single document.
Are there any conservatives here who don't pull "facts" out of your asses? Operation Northwoods is NOT based on a book or based on a single document. Operation Northwoods is a plan containing several options for creating pretexts to manufacture public opinion and engender support for invading Cuba.
Of course, the document is considered absolutely beyond reproach since it's just so delicious for the Left.
When I read it, it was on the National Archives (NARA) website. If you're suggesting the people at NARA make up documents or that somone made up this particular document and forged the signatures of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, put it into the governent files and then kept it secret for 30 years, you may want to try living in the real world. I'm not aware of any scholars who've suggested the document isn't authentic.
Just for fun, compare this lack of critical investigation to their treatment of the letter intercepted in Iraq.
How do you propose the Iraq letter be authenticated beyond reproach when copies of the letter haven't been released to objective scholars for critical analysis?
Just for fun, try to be objective instead of a raving partisan hack. Remember, it's ok to believe your Mommy America isn't perfect.
