Read my first sentence again.
What I did say is that the display of indignation and hurt feelings from Democrats who are still wiping Republican blood off their lips is a little hypocritical.
You know, there are a lot of people who think serving in the National Guard is honorable military service. Guardsmen have died during training. It's a dangerous occupation, particularly if you are flying aircraft. If Bush had lost an arm from an accident while changing a tire on a plane in Texas, how many leftists would be denigrating that military injury? Claiming it wasn't a real military injury? Be honest.
I have been sitting here for several weeks now while Bush, who flew fighters for the National Guard, has had his service dismissed, and lowered to the same level as those who fled to Canada to avoid the draft. Terms like "deserter" and "AWOL," specific military legal terms, have been thrown at him. The latter term by the head of the Democratic Party.
I am very tired. Today, the woman who was rumored to have had an affair with Kerry released a statement denying it. The media will accept this as solid gold, and drop it like a rock. Not too difficult, since they never actually picked it up.
Somehow, the words "questions remain" will not be endlessly heard from the press, as they were after each record confirming Bush's service was released, or each witness on Bush's behalf stepped forward to confirm not only his service, but that he did well. Nor will there be attempts to dissect the statements for inconsistencies, as every statement defending Bush was dissected, and every witness treated with suspicion.
The mainstream media wants Bush to lose this election. As the year goes on, they aren't even going to be pretending any more.
