"the Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao"

It all begins with Awe.

I've been asked if my knowledge of science (and especially of geology) has "ruined" my appreciation of the natural world. I am dumbfounded by the question, for every new observation only enhances my awe at the big picture. I think this is the thing the Fundimentalist doesn't understand: that science does not destroy one's appreciation or relationship to the infinite, it enhances it. I don't want all the answers, I want knowledge to unfold before me, continually. All things evolve, including my perceptions, and my knowledge, and my soul.

It's like the pancam color issue, you've got to accept that you don't see everything. but you do what you can, and strive for more. Plato should have gotten off his ass and explored the cave.

Nice thread. Around the campfire kind of thread. Cool.
