Similar story, different value.
A friend of mine recently climbed Everest. He said he was stuck in a tent at 26,000 feet and had been very lucky to get back up to it after a rope on a sheer face had been lost to the wind.
Says he took a nap, woke up and thought - "Bowser would love this shit!"
Imagine - someone on Everest thought of ME. As a kid my dream was Everest, I read the maps the way I read Asimov. Found something the nuns told me about, but hadn't seen, a word where "w" was a vowel - "cwm". Didn't dream there could possibly ever be any connection, no matter how tenuous.
I was absolutely sincere when I asked him to NEVER tell me if it weren't true.
Congratulations on your brush with immortality. Absolutely delighted it happened.
Arf (There's a lot of space above Everest. The peak gets closer to ISS than any other place on Earth. Gotta make a connection.)
