Liberals would be shocked that I would consider it anything else other than an inalienable human right.
Not only liberals. Our former Republican governor claimed in the state paper that universal health care was an inalienable right. (My rebuttal was published in the Letters to the Editor section.) Hard to believe so many people espouse such nonsense in a nation built on the philosophy of natural rights.
OTOH, dead people have no natural rights, which is why the repealing of the estate tax is asinine. Adult offspring have no natural right to inherit the assets of their parents. There may be good reasons for society to allow some assets (family farms, shops, etc) to be inherited, but society also has good reasons to cap the value of those transfers and use excess assets to better society.
