Any time a bureaucracy (the base for most of today's governments) is involved in anything, it immediately becomes quagmired within that bureaucratic structure, and there is nothing Kerry & Co. can do to change this truth, short of seeing Bush & Co. through with their planned gradual (AKA "by the numbers") withdraw from a newly prospiring Iraq.
It's easy for the DNC to cite victories and failing in previous admins, as they are a done deal. The sitting admin is a working admin, one with which the DNC is in constant rewrite to remain abreast of. And I dare say the coming days will shy more from today's war issues, those that seemed to weigh so heavily just last year, and focus more on who is more qualified to lead this nation. Sadly much of this palaver will focus on ancient war records, rather than political successes, and the current historical record.
