Nobody on this board has ever proposed unrestricted laissez faire capitalism.
Speaking only for myself, I do oppose the near-totalitarian ideas I've seen proposed a number of times by others on this board. I have pointed out many times that this country has worked quite well in the broad area in between, in times during my own lifetime that had considerably less government control and far smaller budgets than we have now.
We know who really wants the monopoly on deficit spending, just like it wants the monopoly on all lending.
The government borrows a trillion dollars a year, not against its own future production like any farmer or businessman, but against the production of the people it's borrowing that money from. When you buy a government bond, that interest you get paid is going to come out of your own pocket, or that of your children. Somebody in the private sector running their finances like this would be thrown in jail.
The debt hit $16 trillion this year, larger than the entire GDP. You want to see a real bubble? Look at that.
Tell me about the "work" government bureaucrats do. The ones who get paid no matter what, with benefits most of us can only dream about, and the vast majority of which are not subject to the vote of the citizens. Tell me why seven of the top ten richest counties in the U.S. adjoin Washington, D.C.
Something like 95 percent of all mortgages are backed and controlled in some way by the Federal government. They now own the entire student loan industry. These were not Republican ideas.
Want to go over that "control and abuse" thing again?
You know nothing about how economics works. You just have a deep hatred of private business, and a complete blindness to any damage done by the government. All in all, a good Democrat.

- Control and abuse
- A lot of truth but banks allow us to pay over time. We voluntarily enter into contract to finance houses and businesses. I wouldn't want save and wait 30 years to buy a house. n/t
