1. This article is nothing but propaganda. Ballistic Missile Defence is not mentioned, but it is the object.

2. Space-based interceptor contracts have already been awarded.

3. The US is certain to make space-based interceptor command & control decisions unilateral, and subjugate countries that don't agree (negatively affecting trade relations).

4. Negatively affecting trade relations is coercion.

5. Imagine a ring of debris around Earth, like the rings of Saturn. That is the path being taken.
