It's hard to have much respect for the intelligence or integrity of the people who so castigated Bill Clinton for lying about his sex life AND
who are not upset about the lies of the Bush Administration regarding far more substantitive matters.
Clinton lied - on a personal level he is a scumbag, a lying scumbag. Dishonest, not worthy of respect.
AND, Bush and his Administration are liars. At the very best they believe their own lies, which still makes them liars. Remember - Iraq oil revenues would pay for reconstruction, the Iraqi people would greet Americans as heroes and saviors, and there would be massive quantities of WMD. There was no time to wait for UN inspectors, the US had to protect it's shores.
Lies - if that wasn't known, it should have been. Consider their sources, consider what they ignored.
Condi Rice - no one thought of using airplanes as missiles. It turns out that under oath she wants to change that statement.
Medicare - deliberately underestimating the costs in order for that boondoggle to get passed.
"Outing" Valerie Plame - where's the outrage? Imagine if the Clinton Administration had "outed" a covert CIA agent for political revenge. Interesting that no one has been charged with that simple matter.
It goes on. But that's enough. There is no conservative outrage on these boards over those betrayals.
When conservatives rightly tore Clinton a new one, that was deserved. I agree.
But when there isn't an equal or increased outrage over the Bush Administrations far more substantive deception, one has to realize there isn't any more integrity among the True Believers than there is in the present government.
Arf
I must be the only one, which is, I guess, fine.
